The Kyungpook National University Mobile Network Security
Technology Research Center, established in July 2000 by the Korean Ministry of
Information Communication as a university IT research center, is concentrating
on the development of information security technology for ubiquitous networks,
and the government sponsorship, until 31st Aug 2008, is now entering the third
year of the second phase.
Plus, as the ubiquitous network information security industry
is relatively new and involves complex technology, joint research with industry
is proving to be more successful for the effective development of new
technologies, protection of intellectual property, meeting international
standards, training special technicians, and increasing international
competitiveness.

The Mobile Network Security Technology Research Center (MSRC) at KNU presented
130% more papers, and particularly 163% more SCI/SCIE papers, than the original
goals for the last 2 years (2004. 8 ~ 2006.8). Furthermore, MSRC published more
than 40 SCI/SCIE papers in international science journals, including Optical
Engineering, IEICE Transactions on Communications, IEE Proceedings - Circuits,
Devices, and Systems, and Finite Fields and their Applications. Moreover, many
results have been patented and commercialized for regular use, plus MSRC is also
in the process of obtaining the rights for technologies and standardizations
that were developed for international standardization. The following is a
numerical chart of the results.
